Eventually, the Boddicker gang meets a grim end, but its Emil (Paul McCrane) who has the most gruesome death in the film. During the films climatic showdown in the abandoned factory, Emil attempts to run over Robocop in the gangs old getaway truck. Just before the truck collides with Murphy, he shoots at Emil who then crashes into a toxic waste dump. A dark disgusting brown sludge flows out of the back of the truck in which poor Emil has been bathed in. Emil is then transformed into a grotesque toxic waste zombie complete with melting skin before eventually exploding into toxic waste sludge after been hit by a speeding Clarence Boddicker. Emils transformation and death comprise the most grotesque scenes of the film and one of the only moments that actually shocks other characters.
