10 Haunting Movies That F*ck With Your Mind

6. A Tale Of Two Sisters (2003)

If you've ever seen the American horror movie The Uninvited, then you unfortunately sat down to watch a very poor remake of the far superior Korean horror masterpiece A Tale of Two Sisters. Whilst The Uninvited felt like a generic, by the numbers exercise in the horror genre, A Tale of Two Sisters feels like anything but that - it's a dense, frustrating and yet somehow totally haunting and absorbing horror experience (oh, it's a really creepy). Written and directed by Kim Jee-woon (the genius who was also behind I Saw The Devil), the film tells the story - or tale, if you will - of two sisters who come back from a stint at a mental institution and begin to experience a series of absurd and eerie happenings. A Tale of Two Sisters can be slow at times, but rest assured in knowing that your patience will ultimately pay off. It's also not the easiest movie to follow - hence its inclusion on this list of brain-melting horror flicks - but the lingering, uncomfortable atmosphere that carries it through to the end credits ensures that you're unable to look away until the final twist.
