4. Die Hard Is Called "Action Skyscraper" In Norway

Ah, Die Hard. A two word phrase that means precisely nothing yet conjures up images of a wisecracking cop taking down terrorists with only his imegenuity (and a handy machine gun) for help.

Die Hard is a abstract phrase, so in choosing their title the Norwegian translators went down an incredibly literal route instead, in a meeting we can only assume lasted less than a minute:

"OK, so what genre is it?"

"Action."

"Right. And where does it take place?"

"In a skyscraper mostly."

"OK. Shall we just call it "Action Skyscraper" and take the rest of the day off?".
