When her actions run afoul of the grown-up Danny Torrence, the film becomes a terrifying cat and mouse game as this terrifying woman chases Danny all the way back to the hotel where it all began.

The fact that Hat feeds on children, luring them in with mystique and a friendly face, makes her one of the most despicable Stephen King villains out there. Which makes it all the more satisfying when her abundance of psychic energy ends up being her downfall. The spirits of the hotel ambush her just as she's about to chow down on Danny and do to her what they did to Danny's father, just in a more direct and expedient manner.
