10 Horror Movie Musicals You Simply Have To See
10. Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes!
This late seventies parody of monster movies ranging from Jaws to The Birds is just as bonkers as it sounds; the title tells you exactly what to expect. As you may have guessed, it follows the catastrophic rise of aggressive tomatoes that want to wipe out humanity.
Universally panned by critics upon its release, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! found itself right at home amongst B-Movie fans, becoming a cult classic. With a few references to other horror films peppered throughout, genre fans will have a fantastic time noticing all of them. And, perhaps to be expected, the film is very, very funny. Aside from its ridiculous premise, there are some truly hilarious jokes in this film that vary from self-referential to simple slapstick.
Technically, this is only just a musical, as it only features a few songs. But what songs they are! The opening narration track is both catchy and witty, and the song Puberty Love is sung by future Sound Garden and Pearl Jam member Matt Cameron! What else do you need in a movie?!
