10 Horror Movie Plots You Won’t Believe Actually Exist

3. Cannibal George Washington - Masters Of Horror (The Washingtonians)

The Showtime series Masters Of Horror was a pretty great idea; an anthology show where every episode was a new story directed by some of the best minds of the genre. It gave viewers some really fantastic, creepy outings. And then there were episodes like The Washingtonians.

From The Changeling director Peter Medak, the movie is about a conspiracy that George Washington was actually a cannibal. Yep.

The main character, Mike, finds a letter behind a portrait of George Washington which reads, "I will skin and eat your children. Upon finishing, I shall fashion tools out of their bones." It's signed "G.W." Members of a crazy patriots group begin to stalk Mike, knowing he uncovered the truth.

Eventually, these Washingtonians kidnap Mike's wife and kids and take them to Mount Vernon. They have a whole setup there and, in an extravagant dining room, they begin feasting on a human body. The group reveals that at Valley Forge, George Washington had to resort to cannibalism to survive, and from then on he desired the taste of human flesh.

In the final moments, the truth about Washington is revealed, and his face on the dollar bill is replaced by George W. Bush. Just... what? It's such a wacky concept, and it's played totally straight. It's not exactly bad, it's just so hilariously bizarre, especially in the context of a show called "Masters Of Horror."
