Billed as a "comedy/horror/romance", Patrick Brice's Creep sees the writer and director teaming up with indie mainstay Mark Duplass (Safety Not Guaranteed, Your Sister's Sister, FX's "The League") for a found-footage suspense film about a videographer who answers a Craigslist ad for a one-day job in a remote mountain town. Of course anyone familiar with a lot of Duplass' work will know to expect a lot of improvisation and a healthy dose of wit. What fans might not expect is that this film was made with Blumhouse Productions, the low-budget horror giants behind the Paranormal Activity and Insidious franchises. It's an odd team-up for Duplass, known more for quirky dramedy than thrills and chills, but early reviews say it's a "slow-burning" film that offers "clever twists and a killer payoff." Other than that, there is not much to say, but with Duplass and Blumhouse on board, it's an interesting enough experience to be on the lookout for.
