3. Justin Marks Writes All The Scripts

A few years back, I stumbled upon an article in the Hollywood Reporter entitled My Life As A Screenwriter You've Never Heard Of. It was written by a guy named Justin Marks, and in it he discussed his job as a Hollywood scribe and how, despite the glamour associated with the title, it was one filled with endless disappointments.

Basically, he'd written 20 screenplays and had had a few TV shows green-lit, but nothing major had ever come his way.

Well, three years after said article was published, and Justin Marks is no longer that screenwriter you've never heard of. He's the writer of the freakin' Jungle Book remake, and - after years and years of grinding away, having his projects turned down - he's now set to become one of Hollywood's most sought after screenwriters.

Reading the article back now, it's actually kind of funny - the Justin Marks of 2013 would have likely never envisioned himself writing one of the biggest movies ever, and now he's in talks to write The Jungle Book 2, alongside Top Gun 2 and the adaptation of video game Shadow Of The Colossus. You made it, Justin!
