10 Iconic Bloody Moments In Quentin Tarantino Films

By Matthew O Donnell /

9. Django Unchained - Dr. King Schultz's Introduction

If I wanted to, I could've made this entire list with moments from Django Unchained. But then this list would've been mostly pictures, and that's not what you want with a list like this. I did manage, with great difficulty, and for the sake of spoilers to whittle it down to simply a couple of scenes, starting with this one. SPOILERS BELOW! You know the films going to be violent, but until Christoph Waltz draws on the two slave traders at the beginning of the film, and you see the claret brighten up the screen, along with the squelching of the flesh as the bullet tears through the top of the guys head and the horse going down in a huge cloud of red. And just when you think that's as far as it'll go, the slaves are freed, and they blow the other guys head off with a shotgun at such close range that you can see the flesh and bits of bone flying through the air. And this is only the beginning, the first 10 minutes in fact. Amazing. I've embedded a featurette on Christoph Waltz's character above, just in case you need any more reason to go see Django Unchained right now.
