4. Inglorious Basterds - Swastika Carving with Col. Hans Landa

The shot of Col. Hans Landa having a swastika carved into his forehead. After reading the earlier entry from Inglorious Basterds, I figured rather than shoe horn in another shoot out, I'd choose the penultimate shot of the film. You don't see much of it, but what you do see, you don't forget. The fact that it lingers on it just enough for you to see the knife carving the skull set's it apart from the rest of the violence in the film, which is certainly over the top in terms of blood shed and such, but this scene seems oddly realistic. I mean, obviously if someone carved a swastika into your forehead, it'd hurt, right? Even though he's a Nazi who's known as the Jew Hunter, you can't help but feel a little bit sorry for Hans Landa in this scene.
