6. Star Wars

While there is an unquestionable element of Star Wars fatigue in the air for many people, the well-established sci-fi universe (and yes, it is still sci-fi) has some seriously expansive lore that we would love to see further explored on screen. With series like The Mandalorian seeing critical success, it shows that while audiences may be growing tired of seeing Skywalkers and Sith Lords, the smaller and lesser represented stories within the Star Wars universe are very much in-demand.

With hundreds of years’ worth of lore through stories in comics, novels, videogames and more, the Star War Universe has endless opportunities for the most distant realms of the galaxy. Without the need to be chained to the now titled “Skywalker Saga”, it would have the potential to be entirely innovative and introduce elements that we aren’t familiar with.

With Disney the corporate machine that it is, we will likely have copious amounts of shows and films before long, with a second season of The Mandalorian, an Obi Wan Kenobi and Cassian Andor series already in the works – and that’s before we even get onto the untitled film projects.
