2. The Mask, Pennywise & Others Make Animated Cameos - Space Jam 2
You'd be forgiven for not realising, but Space Jam 2 actually wrapped shooting more than six months ago, and the long-awaited LeBron James-starring sequel is now deep in post-production for a summer 2021 release.
But an apparent leak of behind-the-scenes footage from the film seems to suggest that in addition to the expected Looney Tunes characters making a return, the sequel will also feature cartoonish appearances from a number of unexpected names and faces licensed by Warner Bros.
This will reportedly include animated cameos from It's Pennywise, Harry Potter's Lord Voldemort, The Wizard of Oz's Wicked Witch of the West, The Matrix's Agent Smith, The Joker, and The Mask, with the latter actually even being voiced by Jim Carrey himself.
It's easy to see how this could broaden the film's appeal to a wider audience, especially given that next year marks 25 years since the release of the original film. Yet despite the plausibility of the footage, without context we can't say for sure that these characters will appear in the movie.
