You know the drill: Batman is attempting to round up the greatest heroes who aren't under the ownership of Marvel Comics to tackle an alien threat that can only be defeated through their collective might.

The previous films in the DC Extended Universe canon indicate that Wonder Woman is already on board, while the Justice League trailers make it beyond obvious that The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg will also join the band.

And speaking of obvious, Superman is also guaranteed to return from the dead, a feat that isn't all that difficult when you happen to be the Last Son of Krypton.

Beyond this basic outline, however, little else has been revealed about the specifics story. There are bound to be a few surprise in store and those well versed in their DC lore will have an idea or two of what they could be...

Director Zack Snyder is at liberty to initiate this because, in The Flash, he has a character capable of breaking through the time barrier and reversing these changes.

Having the movie's big bad Steppenwolf vanquish the League would up the stakes ahead of the final act, and Barry Allen could steal the show by using his Speed Force powers to alter history and give his comrades a second pop at the Apokoliptian.

It's already been established The Flash will be time hopping, between his weird Batman v Superman cameo and the Justice League trailers, and confirmation that his solo movie is based on the Flashpoint event suggests there will be consequences.
