The Legend: The Kraken is a centuries old mythical sea monster thought to be so large that sailors would mistake it for an island. It was said that the Kraken would swallow ships and whales whole. This terror of history and classic literature is cast in Clash of the Titans as the main weapon of the gods. Much of the movie is spent trying to find a way to beat the Kraken. The Failure: The answer is Medusas head. Clever, but then the build-up of the movie should be cutting off the Gorgons head, not releasing the Kraken. When he is released, all he does is destroy a couple of buildings, snap at Perseus once, and then stare right into Medusas eyes. (Someone forgot to cc the kraken in that e-mail.) It mustve been harder for Perseus to learn how to hold up Medusas head without getting bitten by her snake hair than it was to actually beat the Kraken
