Fell follows homicide detective Richard Fell working in Snowtown.

Snowtown is known as a city rife with urban decay of America's worst inner cities and the poverty of a third-world country, it is also Fell's former post. The Sherlock comparison comes from Fell's noted powers of observation and deduction.

The overarching plot in the issue is the mysterious city and reoccurring Nixon mask-wearing Nun. Fell is constantly seen with his ever-present digital camera, using it to bring the evidence of the story together - a great visual storytelling device used in your typical noir-type movies.

The gritty and gothic tale lends itself nicely to a big-screen adaptation. It fits in the same vein as a Seven, Zodiac, Goe Girl, etc. which is why having David Fincher as the director is a no brainier. His style and artistic vision as a director lead themselves perfectly to this comic.

The book has been on hiatus since 2008, though its creators have ideas for where the story will go and have talked about bringing it back. The movie, as well as being great in its own right, could kick start the comics comeback.
