9. Clint Eastwood: Mayor Of Gotham

For years fans and commentators have been making the suggestion that Clint would be a perfect fit for the Batman role in an adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns. This is an idea that will surely not come to fruition now. However it doesn€™t rule out the possibility of Clint portraying an older Bruce Wayne if an adaptation of Batman Beyond ever got off the ground. The elderly Bruce Wayne of Batman Beyond would be a far less physically demanding role and is no doubt one Clint would be perfect for. Given Warner's reported plans for the Bat-Fleck franchise this again has to be seen as unlikely. If a Batman Beyond adaptation was put into production any time soon it would no doubt be a prosthetically aged Ben Affleck playing the role of mentor-Bruce now. As a nice way of paying homage to the long mooted idea of Bat-Clint (and also referencing Clint's stint as Mayor of Carmel) it would be good to see Clint cameo in a future Batman production as the elderly Mayor of Gotham. Such a role would no doubt suit Eastwood's reduced acting schedule and would be a nice pay off for those who longed to see him as Frank Miller's grizzled dark Knight. Alternatively Clint would make a spankingly awesome Saint of Killers from Preacher, but its doubtful he will be in Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's thoughts for the TV adaptation of the property.
