10 Major Resolutions For DC Movies In 2017
10. Do Whatever It Takes To Get Ben Affleck To Direct HIS The Batman
As it stands, Ben Affleck is still directing The Batman after apparently seeming to waver on the decision and making everyone think he didn't like the script he'd be shown. So far, the media suggests that he's flip-flopped on the decision, despite his affirmation on Jimmy Kimmel that all he's doing is taking his time to get the right movie out.
The thing is, Warner Bros (and most studios) have particularly tight deadlines on blockbusters. That probably counts doubly on The Batman, which has an incredible amount riding on it, and it's hard to imagine the studio are going to be happy to wait for their man to fine-tune a script until he's happy with it. Not when there are countless directors who would want to make a Batman film, on schedule and on budget and with minimum fuss when they charge in to take the final edit.
He might not have had the best 2016 generally speaking (at least in terms of critical response to his movies), but Affleck is a prodigiously talented director and having him make a Batman movie is a big deal for Warner Bros. It adds value to the entire DCEU and prestige and he should be given enough rope to do as he pleases.
