10 Marvel Cinematic Universe Characters We Wouldn't Mind Being Recast

6. Isaiah Mustafa Replacing Don Cheadle As James "Roadie" Rhodes / War Machine

War Machine has already undergone a recast, over matters of unreconciled contract negotiations. Which in effect slightly hurt the franchise, but not by much. Terrence Howard was a great James Rhodes, but he never really got to be War Machine. However, if we look at the available actors and consider what a recast or reboot of the franchise could be like; it's hard to not recognize what Isaiah Mustafa would do for the roll. This is an actor that could carry the character on his own in a spin-off film. Marvel and Disney have been talking about the future of their MCU once all 3 phases are completed. War Machine is a fan favorite, and a possible contender for a standalone entry. Consider that even though he existed in two films prior to the Avengers, Warmachine was completely absent from that film. Possibly because there was not real need or connection to the character (possibly the actor). Don Cheadle is an excellent actor, but he's never really resonated as being the definitive War Machine. Not like we associate Iron Man with Robert Downey Jr.; or Wolverine with Hugh Jackman. Those roles are forever belonging to those actors. Mustafa has what it takes to be War Machine, and Rhodey, for whatever future phases Marvel and Disney have planned for the character; with enough of a look and a charismatic demeanor to bring him life in a way the mainstream deserves to see this amazing comic book character.
