10. Stan Lee Is Uatu The Watcher

Stan Lee pops up for an obligatory cameo in virtually every live-action Marvel film because he had a hand in creating many of its most popular characters, but the conspiracy theorists will tell you there's a deeper reason for his omnipresence.

One theory suggests the comic book legend is actually Uatu the Watcher, an extraterrestrial being sent to our solar system to observe its super inhabitants.

Lee appears across Marvel Studios' output as well as in its third-party movies at Sony Pictures and 20th Century Fox, which ties in neatly with the idea of Uatu travelling between realities as he does in the comics.

So could Stan the man actually have a key role to play in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as an all-powerful, all-seeing alien?

Marvel doesn't appear to be dead against the idea as Lee's cameos in Guardians of the Galaxy and its sequel are a direct nod to this very fan theory.
