10 Marvel Comic Storylines That Need To Be Put On Film

As excited as we were to see the upcoming Marvel slate of films, one thing we were disappointed in is it still seems we have to hope for a Black Widow or Hawkeye film. It€™d be wonderful to learn more about these two characters and how they became so close in the first place. We€™ve gotten some hints from The Avengers, and given the scenes of the ballet school in the Age of Ultron trailer, it looks like we may see a bit more of the Black Widow€™s background in there (Natasha once trained as a ballerina).

But what if we could get a film featuring not only Hawkeye and Black Widow, but also giving Adrianne Palicki€™s Mockingbird some time on the big screen to help tie Agents of SHIELD even more strongly to the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Marvel€™s Widowmaker mini-series seems like a great way to bring these characters together in a film. After the death of a Japanese SHIELD agent, Hawkeye and Mockingbird travel to Russia, where they meet up with the Widow, who€™s investigating the mass murder of KGB trainees. They discover the killings are being carried out by the Dark Ocean Society led by a man using the identity of Ronin. The new Ronin is none other than Alexei Shostakov, Natasha€™s ex-husband who is trying to force a war between Russia and Japan to restore the former€™s glory.

The film can be told partly in flashback, detailing the Widow€™s career with the KGB and working alongside Shostakov until she fought Hawkeye and how he convinced her to defect. Instead of using the Dark Ocean Society, another suggestion could be a faction of the Hand, Marvel€™s mystic order of ninja assassins.
