10 Massive Movie Predictions For The Rest Of 2016

10. Ghostbusters Fails To Gross $400 Million Worldwide

The new Ghostbusters reboot has been one of the year's big box office questions, given its huge $144 million budget and the massive controversy surrounding its production.

The film released to a solid if unremarkable $46 million opening weekend, claiming second place just behind The Secret Life of Pets. With the potential for the curiosity factor to quickly taper off, combined with the film not getting a release in the now-crucial Chinese market, it's entirely possible that Ghostbusters won't even break the $400 million mark worldwide and be a modest success at best.

It really depends on whether or not the movie has "legs" as many of director Paul Feig's movies do, and manages to keep finding an audience for weeks, but the smart money is on the film grinding to a halt around the $350-380 million mark.
