10 MCU Moments That Don't Quite Fit

10. Star-Lord Temper Tantrum - Avengers: Infinity War

The Avengers are at their most frustrating when they act as their own worst enemies. Much like Tony Stark and Bruce Banner are kind of responsible for the destruction of Sokovia, Star Lord is more than a little responsible for the snap. If only Nebula had kept quiet, or Peter Quill showed better anger management skills, the whole thing could have been avoided.

In Avengers: Infinity War, we find our big bad Thanos truly vulnerable for the first time. This is thanks to Star-Lord's brilliant plan to collectively subdue the Mad Titan. All it would have taken was letting Iron Man and Spider-Man finish pulling the Infinity Gauntlet free. That's it. No gauntlet, no snap.

Once Quill realizes that Thanos killed Gamora to retrieve the soul stone, he ruins what would have been his biggest contribution to entire arc of the MCU. Instead, Quill allows his emotions to take over and begins to pistol whip Thanos. Besides having no positive impact, the tantrum allowed Thanos to regain his composure as well as the Infinity Gauntlet.

It's because of the snap that The Avengers must go back in time to retrieve the Infinity Stones. Since Black Widow dies in this process, her life can be added to the list of consequences. Not the kind of behavior upon which to build a franchise.
