9. "You Could At Least Recognise Me"
What Happened
In Captain America: Civil War, when The Winter Soldier is reactivated by Zemo and escapes, he comes face to face with Black Widow and almost chokes her out. Struggling to breathe, Natasha says "you could at least recognise me" suggesting they'd met before.
What it Teased
Though Natasha revealed in The Winter Soldier that the mind-controlled Bucky had almost killed her twice before, this felt like she was suggesting the pair KNEW each other. And that immediately made fans think of their association in the comics when Bucky trained Natasha to become the Widow. The fact that it turned out that he was involved in HYDRA's super soldier training programme seemed to hint at that too.
At the very least, her line suggested they were old friends/enemies beyond brief encounters, and more likely, it suggested that the rumours of him mentoring her years before might be true.
But Then...
When the pair came back together in Infinity War, they didn't mention the fact that they knew each other. Not even a flicker.
There's a chance we'll see it explained in Black Widow's own solo prequel movie, but it's still odd that it wasn't even partly mentioned in Infinity War with both characters in Wakanda.
