10 MCU Phase 4 Rumours That Could Change Everything
8. The Black Knight Sets Up Time Travel (And Fantastic Four)
D23 obviously brought the revelation that Kit Harrington will be playing the Black Knight in The Eternals and since then, we've seen lots of speculation on how he will slot into that story and how much screen-time he'll be getting.
Given that Harrington was cast, you'd be silly to think he won't be a major player and also that his involvement in the MCU would end after his first appearance. He's a franchise name and there may be an indication of how that will happen.
According to one rumour, The Black Knight will be involved in time travel and will find himself propelled through time not to the modern day, but to the 1960s, where he'd meet the Fantastic Four in their reboot for around 2022. That fits with Peyton Reed's former pitch to Fox for an earlier Fantastic Four movie amidst suggestions that he is pushing hard to be handed the reins to that movie too.
If this does turn out to be the case, we're likely to see the Black Knight kicked into the time continuum (somehow) in The Eternals, which suggests we're going to get another look at how time travel might be possible in the MCU without Pym Particles.
