4. We Need Spider-Man To Have Moved On From Gwen Stacy
There are going to be a lot of plot threads in need of resolution by the time The Amazing Spider-Man 3 swings around - which means that there will be little room left for Spider-Man to experience a continued mourning period for the now deceased Gwen Stacy. That's not to say the movie should fail to acknowledge the fact that Spider-Man is dealing with the repercussions of her death; just that the "passing of time" could be used to get past this. Fact is, the amount of stuff that is already going to happen in The Amazing Spider-Man 3 means that we don't want to spend an hour focusing on Peter being breaking down at every given moment; given that Mary Jane Watson really needs to find herself established in the Spidey universe this time around; weighing down his romantic avenues in such a fashion will only serve to bring a sense of melancholy to the plot (when we need fun).
