10 Minor Star Wars Characters Who Suffered Horrific Fates

These smaller Star Wars characters went through some rough times in this galaxy far, far away...

The galaxy far, far away is a place where heroes ultimately triumph over oppressive Empires, villainous former Jedi finally redeem themselves and see the light, and hope always finds a way to survive.

But the Star Wars franchise also contains its fair share of utterly horrendous moments, too.

This is the same universe where bounty hunter fathers have had their heads sliced off in front of their children, fallen Jedi have cut through younglings, and certain iconic Force-users have been forced to watch many of the people they love perish or heartbreakingly lose their way, don't forget.

However, arguably some of the most horrific fates to have occurred in these worlds have been experienced by those characters who rarely found themselves in the spotlight.

Those folks who were often just there in the background, or even supporting the various main character battling in Clone and Galactic Civil Wars, also didn't half get put through the wringer at times.

Being forced to deal with a fate possibly even worse than death, coping with a properly devastating loss, and having their lives ended in some of the most shocking ways imaginable, this collection of minor characters - many being suggested by the wonderful folks over at r/StarWars - weren't half made to suffer during their time in the worlds of Star Wars.

10. Cordé - Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones

Following on from Star Wars fans being introduced to the Padmé Amidala decoy known as Sabé during Episode I - The Phantom Menace, another one of the former Queen of Naboo's loyal handmaidens soon popped up in the second prequel trilogy picture.

While Sabé was able to safely make it to the end of that prior film, though, the same sadly couldn't be said for poor Cordé.

Within the opening few minutes of Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, this brave handmaiden was shockingly murdered whilst disguised as senator Amidala, with her ship being suddenly blown up in an assassination attempt moments after it touched down on Coruscant.

Now sure, she definitely knew the risks the moment she was ordered to throw on Padmé's clothes and pretend to be the VIP by Captain Typho. But, even so, she still suffers a pretty horrendous end for someone just loyally doing what they were told to protect Padme.

And worst of all? In the wake of Captain Typho's awkward line of "I guess I was wrong. There was no danger at all," and the subsequent explosion created by bounty hunter Zam Wesell, all Cordé could muster with her dying words was that she was sorry for failing the senator.

Cordé, you did anything but.
