2. Doctor Strange Is A Big Player In This Universe - Captain America: The Winter Soldier
If the rumours are true, Marvel is starting to do away with the origin stories for the next round of superheroes. Perhaps that means characters like Blank Panther, Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange may already be established superheroes where we first meet them. Is that perhaps the reason HYDRA identified Doctor Strange as a credible target in the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier? Despite plenty of rumours, nothing had been confirmed regarding this character before the second Captain America was shown. So it was quite a surprise when the traitorous Agent Sitwell revealed that Stephen Strange was on HYDRAs hit list along with the likes of Tony Stark and Bruce Banner. It would mean he is as big a player as these two Avenger allies. It was a clever bit of foreshadowing for the role he will ultimately play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now all we need to the official confirmation of Benedict Cumberbatch in the role.
