How many sci-fi outings are based on the mean streets of London, specifically within a council estate tower block, with the gang that began by mugging an innocent nurse ultimately becoming the protagonists? Attack the Block had no right to be this good.

Aside from Nick Frost, the cast was made up largely of unknowns, helping to create a very low-budget, very English feel.
