What Happened?

Foster has of course appeared in the MCU already, as played by Laurence Fishburne in last year's Ant-Man and the Wasp, but while Foster name-drops Project Goliath, we sadly don't catch a single glimpse of the superhero in all of his oversized glory.

Director Peyton Reed confirmed that Goliath did originally appear in the movie, with a flashback showing a young Foster growing to his record 21 feet as mentioned in the final film.

Reed said, "It felt, just narratively, it just was too much of a left turn", and given that the film already grinds to a halt to unfurl Ghost's (Hannah John-Kamen) backstory, it was probably the right call all things considered.

Still, it'd be a damn shame if Fishburne never donned the Goliath suit to give Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) a helping hand in a future movie. We can only hope.
