10 More Disturbing Movie Moments You Never Noticed

10. The Predator's Secret Proposal - Predator 2

Granted, this one's actually kinda cute once you know the inside baseball context, but for any viewers who just randomly stumble upon it during a viewing of the movie itself, it's incredibly disconcerting.

Who knew that Predator 2 was really just a love story after all?

During the sequel's unforgettable slaughterhouse sequence, the Predator's gauntlet malfunctions for a brief moment, and for a few fractions of a second, a hidden message can be seen on said gauntlet - "Marry me," followed by the word "Poynter."

It's pretty much the last thing you'd expect the Predator to say, and it's all the more unnerving that it's displayed in the middle of an ultraviolent action sequence where Peter Keyes (Gary Busey) and his men get thoroughly bodied.

As for the story behind the message? This Easter egg was actually sneaked into Predator 2 by Donald Poynter, an animation artist who worked on the film and included it as a proposal for his then-girlfriend.

Better still, fans managed to get in touch with Poynter back in 2019 to both confirm that his girlfriend said yes, and that they're still married to this very day. D'aww.

Still, if you catch this message within the pure vacuum of the film's story itself, it's hella creepy.
