10. The Untamed

It goes without saying that any film involving sexual violence and sexual frustration isn't going to be an easy watch, but The Untamed takes things to an entirely new level.

This Mexican sci-fi horror follows Alejandra, a young mother who finds herself growing resentful towards her sexually repressed husband. When a couple introduces Alejandra to a tentacled alien that will satisfy her carnal desires, her whole life turns upside-down.

Now, nobody is going to blame you if you don't want to watch a woman having a kinky relationship with an extra-terrestrial octopus, but The Untamed's promotions and trailers were so vague, few were aware how messed up it was when they decided to give it a shot. And once the WTF premise became clear, many viewers felt obligated to see it through to the end since they were already invested in the surreal story.

Due to superb filmmaking, writing, and performances, The Untamed never feels as exploitative as it should. That said, once you've bared witness to an unhappy woman bumping uglies with a space squid, you don't need to see it again.
