10 MORE Great Horror Movies You'll Only Watch Once

8. In A Violent Nature

In a Violent Nature flipped the horror genre on its head by asking a simple question, "What if a slasher was depicted from the lens of the killer?"

The Canadian thriller kicks off with Jason Voorhees stand-in Johnny rising from his grave after someone steals his locket. Donned in a fireman mask, the hook-wielding revenant prowls the woods, eviscerating anyone who stands in his way.

Though In a Violent Nature's premise could've been nothing more than a gimmick, the subversive slasher gets away with it due to its focus on atmosphere, palpable tension, and brutally imaginative kills that will stay with you for a lifetime. It also might have the most convincing head-squashing scene in cinema.

Even though In a Violent Nature is a wonderful change of pace, there are times when you can feel its length since a sizeable chunk of the run-time fixates on the silent killer plodding through the wilderness. Obviously, this decision is to maintain Johnny's viewpoint, but it's tempting to fast-forward past these tedious moments.

Although the slasher crowd should check out In a Violent Nature, you get the full experience the first time round.
