10 More Movies That Killed Completely The Wrong Character

10. Lenore Mills: Taken 3

The Death: Liam Neeson’s ex-wife Lenore is murdered just as it looks as if whatever they had back in the 1990s was about to be rekindled. It’s a cruel blow given the circumstances - yet nobody really gives it a second thought. This was a character who, after two films, the audience did not know that well while her daughter, on the other hand, was more of a familiar face.

Who Should Have Died Instead: Kim Mills

The first Taken film was good, the second predictable and the third just entirely unnecessary.

And speaking of unnecessary, Lenore's death really is. She is the mother of Neeson’s daughter who has already been through the ringer at this point having been kidnapped and ultimately rescued twice before. Therefore, she's nothing more than a side character, despite making two previous cameos prior the finale.

Neeson's daughter and Maggie Grace’s character Kim is kidnapped twice before the third instalment and the fact that she is the most precious thing in Neeson’s world means her death would have been entirely justifiable. However, potentially aware that her demise would probably turn Mills into a non-functioning mess, the script-writers chose to give Lenore the chop instead - paving the way for a drab, pointless movie in the process.
