10 MORE Times The MCU Betrayed Your Trust

10. King Loki (Loki)

Disney+ has been very good to the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far, but in the several series since, nothing has quite yet been able to match the bizarre theories that WandaVision allowed fans to come up with each week. That’s not to say there has been nothing however.

After Loki and Sylvie found the Citadel at the End of Time, there were many theories going around as to who would be the person behind the TVA. Many rightly thought Kang the Conqueror, or at least a Variant of the character, would show up, while others believed there would be another Loki Variant at the top of the chain.

This theory was based on a scene in the trailers that showed Loki upon a throne, basking in the glory of what he had been fighting for for so long. After five episodes, this version of the character had yet to be seen, so it made sense that he would show up in episode six.

However, in spite of getting fans very excited for what appeared to be a victorious, vindicated Loki, this was never actually featured in the series at all. For those who loved the more villainous side to the titular character, this was a crushing disappointment.
