10. Roach To The Residents - Tales From The Crypt: Demon Knight

Originally conceived as a stand-alone horror, Demon Knight was later retooled into a Tales from the Crypt feature adaptation. 

In this spooky thrill ride, a demon called the Collector (portrayed by a gloriously over-the-top Billy Zane) descends upon a boarding house, knowing one occupant, Brayker, has a key that opens the gates of Hell. After allying with the residents, Brayker whips up a magical barrier to keep the Collector and his demon horde at bay.

The Collector tries to weasel his way inside, offering to grant the residents' deepest desires if they switch sides. They naturally refuse, knowing a demon's deal is never legit.

However, one sleazy criminal called Roach (played by a pre-fame Thomas Haden Church) takes the Collector up on his offer. After the demon sweet-talks him, Roach agrees to drop the forcefield. As Roach breaks the seal, he announces he owes humanity nothing since the universe gave him haemorrhoids. (Yes, that's literally his entire motivation for betraying mankind.) 

Rather than rewarding him, the Collector commands his lackeys to rip Roach apart, meaning he sold out everybody and nearly doomed the planet for nothing.
