To put it simply, Catching Fire has one hell of a cliffhanger ending. In the final minutes of the film (and the last few pages of the book) we learn that Peeta has been taken hostage, revolutionaries are waging war against the Capitol, District 13 does indeed exist, and District 12 has been completely destroyed.Mockingjay then begins with Katniss visiting her old District and seeing it in ruins. This scene allows us to understand Katniss' mental state through the rest of the book. She blames herself for the destruction and, as a result, refuses to be the Mockingjay that Coin, Plutarch, and Haymitch want her to be. The teaser trailer above gives us a glimpse of the scene that is sure to be downright chilling.
