While the scene in the war room with Coin is technically when Katniss embraces her role as the mockingjay, it isn't until the hospital scene that she truly realizes just how important she is to the revolution.Initially sent to the hospital by Plutarch in an attempt to boost morale, Katniss is floored by how much her mere presence raises the spirits of the injured. It is in this scene that she finally becomes the mockingjay, the symbol of hope for the revolution, and promises to fight with everyone else.
