Sally Field's 1985 Oscar acceptance speech might be one of the most heavily quoted (and ridiculously mis-quoted) of all time, but I can't imagine why, given that it makes me want to plunge a fork into my ear every time I listen to it. Field had already won an Oscar for Norma Rae, though went about completely discrediting that win and basically disrespecting everyone who previously voted for her by excitedly declaring that she "didn't feel " that time, but now she does. Field follows up with her (in)famous utterance, "You like me! Right now, you like me!", a sickly comment that again comes across as disingenuous and simply too rehearsed. Also, her constant head-bobbing throughout the whole speech only adds to the unbearable nature of this horrendous Oscar moment.
