Finally! (And yes, I know the above image isn't from the film, but just go with it...) To many of us, the ones who grew up with the original trilogy, all weve ever wanted to see was the continuation of Luke Skywalkers story. Despite a large part of The Force Awakens centring on the hunt for Luke, we see barely any of the famed Jedi Knight. And by that, I mean we get literally a minute in the presence of arguably the sagas most popular character. But when that minute comes, man is it good We saw the back of a cloaked figure. Is it Skywalker? Could it be some sort of swerve where theres some rogue under the hood? Hell, Im not afraid to say that I found myself craning my head in the cinema in an attempt to see round the hood and discover who really was standing in front of Rey at the climax of the film. Of course, it would indeed be Luke, and there we had it: for the fans who have waited 30 years to see more of Luke Skywalker, we finally got what wed craved for so long. Yes, it may have been mightily brief, but it sure did make for an emotional return to a character that so many of us grew up idolizing. Added to that, it was the perfect end to The Force Awakens and has us all laced in goosebumps and eagerly awaiting Episode VIII when that arrives in 2017.
