8. Harry Potter And The Prisoner of Azkaban- Lupin's Transformation

You can't pretend that this scene doesn't freak you out just because it's in a kid's movie. While an American Werewolf in London gave the world the most infamous werewolf transformation scene I dare say that this is the best. What makes it so frightening is it's completely unexpected but also very emotional. The werewolf has always been a misunderstood monster because very few movies show the actual repercussions of what it would be like to transform. Through Lupin's transformation the director, Alfonso Cuaran, really lets the camera linger on his contorting form as he slowly becomes this pitiful looking creature. The best thing about the werewolf is that he doesn't look fearsome, instead he looks bent and broken which helps display how much pain he is in. The scene always has an emotional feel to it that few werewolf movies do because Cuaran shows Sirius trying so desperately to help his longtime friend and ultimately failing.
