10 Most Inconsistent Actors Working Today

10. Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson is an inconsistent actor because Mel Gibson is an inconsistent person.

Once seen as an established actor/director, Gibson has (surprisingly, more than once) put his career in jeopardy with bizarre remarks on just about everything, from race and sexuality to alcoholism and domestic violence. Yikes.

As such, he went from leading smash hit successes such as "Braveheart" and "Passion of the Christ," to doing hammy appearances next to Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg in "Daddy's Home 2." Quite the transition there.

In between those polar opposites, Gibson's done everything in between, from the so-so "Signs" to the critically acclaimed "Hacksaw Ridge," although that was admittedly only a directorial credit.

In a way, its a shame that the man known for playing wild and outspoken characters like those in "Mad Max" and "Lethal Weapon" turned out to be wild and outspoken himself, because without the rocky personal life, Gibson probably would have had a solid and consistent legacy.

It's almost as if refraining from being a massive racist can further your career considerably.

But hey, just because Hollywood doesn't want you doesn't mean you don't have a mortgage to pay off.
