10 Most Satisfying Harry Potter Movie Moments
10. Harry Destroys Tom Riddle’s Diary (The Chamber Of Secrets)
During Harry’s second year at Hogwarts, the castle is terrorised by a series of attacks by an unknown beast that petrifies its victims. The mystery is gradually unravelled, and the story accumulates down in the Chamber of Secrets with a standoff between Harry and Tom Riddle.
Riddle’s power comes from his magical diary, which enchanted Ginny throughout the year, forcing her to open the Chamber and write blood-spattered messages. Having defeated the Basilisk, Harry then grabs one of its fangs and stabs the diary.
From a visual standpoint, it’s thrilling to see the ink spilling like blood from the diary as Riddle yells with pain. But the scene is particularly satisfying when you consider the wider context of the series, as the diary also happens to be the first of many Horcruxes that needs to be destroyed.
This moment isn’t just the climax of Harry’s second adventure – it’s also the start of Voldemort’s ultimate demise.
