10 Movie Actors Who Returned To Roles They Hated
10. Robert Pattinson - Twilight
The DC Extended Universe's new Batman has come a long way since finding his big break with the Twilight franchise (following a memorable appearance as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire). As Edward Cullen, the actor didn't receive much critical acclaim for his work as the sparkly, brooding vampire, but the way his career has rebounded is undeniably impressive.
In the years which have followed, Pattinson has made it clear he didn't enjoy his time working on the franchise, and that had he been not contracted to star in the entire "Twilight Saga," he probably wouldn't have.
He also has an extremely low opinion of Edward, saying in one interview, "He's the most ridiculous person. The more I read the script, the more I hated this guy. Plus, he's a 108-year-old virgin, so he's obviously got some issues there." Those comments may be tongue in cheek, but there are entire Tumblr pages devoted to his hatred of the franchise that made him a household name.
Needless to say, if and when new Twilight book Midnight Sun is adapted, Pattinson clearly won't be reprising the role.
