10 Movie Character Fates Only Explained In DVD Extras
10. Shaak Ti - Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith
Although popping up a few times in the prequel series, Shaak Ti was one of many Jedi whose death was unwitnessed during the tragic events of Revenge of The Sith.
But the film's release on DVD revealed a deleted scene that was cut from the opening where Shaak Ti did bite the dust. Impaled through the chest in front of a horrified Obi-Wan and Anakin after being captured by droid General Grievous.
The scene added nothing to the pretty impressive opening battle, according to George Lucas and was the reason he omitted it from the movie.
However, there was a much more dramatic death for Shaak Ti that wasn't completed but did make its way into the final cannon. In Revenge Of The Sith's 2011 Blu-ray release, fans got a glimpse of what Shaak Ti's final death would have looked like from an animatic of the scene.
Recording a Holocron whilst the Jedi Temple is under-attack during Order 66, Shaak Ti is once again run through the chest with a lightsaber but this time by none other than Anakin Skywalker, going full Darth Vader for the first time.
This scene eventually found its way into the current Star Wars canon via a vision Yoda has during the Clone Wars series, finally giving Shaak Ti an official death.
