6. Vincent Hanna Is A Secret Cocaine Addict - Heat
It's no secret that LAPD Lt. Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino) is a bit of an "eccentric" character in Michael Mann's crime masterpiece Heat, as evidenced by the sheer number of "Al Pacino loses his s**t in Heat" montages on YouTube.
And while most fans simply put it down to the character's inherent intensity, in 2016 Pacino completely flipped the audience's perception of Hanna by revealing that he was hoofing cocaine throughout the story (Hanna, not Pacino, that is).
Better still, this wasn't simply an affectation Pacino decided to infuse into his performance - it was actually part of the original script.
Mann ultimately ended up cutting any direct allusions to it, but given the excitable nature of Pacino's swinging-for-the-fences performance, it certainly lends some curious, morally ambiguous added context.
