As terrible as the Twilight movies are, there's no denying the pop-culture phenomenon they became, grossing more than $3.3 billion worldwide, largely from an obsessed fanbase of "tweens."

But ultimately there was almost as much press about the real-life romance between the series' two stars, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, as there was the movies themselves.

The introverted Stewart later commented that the sudden fame and intense media scrutiny brought "a whole lot of other baggage" with it. She added, "I hated it that the details of my life were being turned into a commodity and peddled around the world."

This reached its apex when Stewart was caught having an affair with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders mere months before the final Twilight film hit cinemas, which inevitably sent both the media and Twilight fans into a frenzy.

Thankfully in the years since Twilight's conclusion, Stewart has racked up an impressive CV full of acclaimed indie films, even becoming the first American actress in history to win a Cesar Award (for her performance in Clouds of Sils Maria).
