10. Spielberg References (Star Wars)

Bottom of the list since these tend to be few and far between throughout the franchise, but they are there if you know what you're looking for.

As any film historian knows, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg were cut from the same filmmaking cloth, both graduating from the same film school along with other such names like Francis Ford Coppola. So of course, the two were very aware of each other's rise to fame and worked with each other on a regular basis.

The most famous example of Lucas calling out his buddy Steve is in Episode 1 when you actually see the alien E.T in the galactic senate. But if you look in the lore, you'll find that one of the E.T. senators attending that meeting was named Grebleips: Spielberg spelled backwards.
