The overriding themes of the classic coming-of-age comedy are those of childhood, companionship, self-discovery and prevalent nostalgia. It may come as somewhat of a surprise, therefore, that one of the most well-remembered scenes involves the now infamous Lardass, a blueberry pie eating contest and copious amounts of vomit. Much like the contagiousness of laughter or yawning, seeing someone vomit often forces you to think of doing the same thing yourself. As you see the scattered, unchewed blueberries dispersed through the oceans of vomit in this particularly stomach-churning sequence, it's nigh on impossible not to physically retch and join the chunder party.
