10 Movie Productions That Tragically Ended With Real Deaths

9. Shark! (1969)

Also known as Caine, Shark! tells the story of a gunrunner who is hired to extract goodies from a shipwreck in shark infested waters off the coast of Sudan. It wasn€™t a hit, to say the least, but did showcase Burt Reynolds sans mustache and took the life of a young stuntman in a very horrific way. Working with real sharks, the stuntman, Jose Marco, prepared for the opening scene and was mauled when the shark was not properly sedated. Not only was his death caught on film, but the production company chose to use the death as a marketing ploy boasting €œa realistic film became too real€, causing the film€™s director to disown the film.
