10. Tom Cruise - Young Guns

Sometimes secret cameos are the result of months and months of planning and negotiations, and sometimes they happen totally off-the-cuff at the last minute by pure happenstance.

The latter is true of Tom Cruise's hilariously sneaky appearance in Western action flick Young Guns, where he shows up underneath some rootin' tootin' makeup as one of villain Lawrence Murphy's (Jack Palance) henchmen.

In the film's climax, Cruise can be briefly seen getting blown away by Charlie Bowdre (Casey Siemaszko), yet the shots of his face are so often concealed by both gunsmoke and the actor's glued-on facial hair that it's extremely difficult to spot him.

As for how the cameo came about? Cruise was simply visiting friends on the movie's set, when director Christopher Cain decided it'd be fun to offer him a small part in the finale, which he accepted.
